ABUS makes use of this idea and uses it as a sheathing for chain slings. Thus, on the one hand, the protection against abrasion is increased, on the other hand, the jacket protects the bike from damage by the chain. This means, for example, that water is not absorbed by the fabric and the sleeves are protected against corrosion.
