Thanks to six years of development and our most advanced use of racewear to date, the Equipe RS bib shorts S9 break new ground by combining unprecedented stability and comfort in this speed-focused garment.

The S9 model heralds the future of race-proven comfort and was designed based on an entirely new concept that was itself developed from the ground up. Even after years of testing and reviews from other riders at the highest levels of the sport, we continue to see that even the most advanced method is only as good as the frame that supports it. Think of the tight turns you ride, the pedaling you do whether in the saddle or standing up, and think of all the hours spent repositioning your body that have a huge impact on your shorts along with the functionality of their inserts. And finally, don't forget about the comfort they provide you. To address all of these points, we used our A-Lock Engineering, our brand new stabilizing system that combines proprietary materials and methods to stabilize the shorts and keep the insert securely in place. Two inserts come into play in the S9 generation: the primary "butterfly insert" that fully hugs the legs and converges at the back to form our new ergoBox structure. This design effectively frames the insert and also impresses with an incredibly comfortable layer that wraps your legs and is made from Type.441 material, specifically designed for compressive support and silky-soft comfort. After this step, we implemented our unique rollBar, which is modeled after a race car's stabilizer bar in that the straps act as a stabilizer for use as your weight shifts from left to right in the turns. Each beam is sewn directly into the hem above the insert to ensure it is always under tension. The straps have also been redesigned using calibrated stretch, while the back also features a single section of stretchy material that has been folded over itself to create an A-shape at the back. To provide an increased level of stability, it offers a short vertical stretch. At the front, a more flexible material has been used to create the fabric, which boasts an anti-bacterial carbon weave to wick away moisture and lay flat. We've also focused on a single insert that has evolved from our tried and tested Equipe Evo, giving us the freedom to think again about what's most important in an optimised insert for racing. We reduced the overall footprint to save additional weight, then implemented superAir microShock foam with 3D waffle and our kraterCooler system to increase air exchange, and also took further steps to secure the insert at the rear with our patented horizontal stabilizer. The result? ASSOS' signature comfort, but more stable than ever before.
